The proposed personal calculator program is based on the ANSI S1.26-1978 Standard "Method for the Calculation of the Absorption of Sound by the Atmosphere." Apart from the absorption for pure tones, the program computes the absorption for octave or 1/3-octave bands of white noise, as required in the calculation of reverberation processes and noise propagation.
