Anechoic Chamber with Optional Boundaries

Tests of loudspeakers intended for operation in the corner of a room cannot be performed satisfactorily in a conventional anechoic chamber. A new type of chamber has been devised. One corner is provided with a four-varied turnstile door, rotatable on a vertical axis. With the door indexed in one of four positions, a trihedral corner is provided for the testing of devices intended for use in corners. With the door indexed in another position, a dihedral corner is provided in which special constructions may be devised. A third index position of the door provides a flat baffle. A fourth index position exposes the normal sound-absorptive material, so the chamber is typically anechoic.
