The low-frequency performance of a multidriver loudspeaker system is related to both the basic parameters of the drivers and their acoustical and electrical configurations. Two- and four-driver arrays are described. When using similar drivers where the basic parameters are within typical tolerances, it is found that best performance is obtained when the resonant frequencies of the drivers are matched. For any given set of drivers, the parallel or parallel-series electrical configurations give the best results.
