A Musician`s Lap-Top Computer

As a controller for organizing increasingly complex MIDI connections of musical instruments, a powerful yet low-cost personal computer that is designed for daily use by musicians is considered. This paper describes an MS-DOS-based machine, summarizing its features in the areas of portability, MIDI data processing, SMPTE connections, continuous data entry, and a programming environment where many musical application programs can be created.
