The ability to delay audio using digital techniques is an established factor in digital audio processing. This paper describes a delay processor developed to provide an intelligent pool of delay, from which delay may be freely assigned under operator control. Up to 24 channels of independently controllable delay are provided with associated diagnostic capabilities. Applications using such delay assignment are overviewed as are certain design aspects of the processor.
