The low-frequency transfer and tracking functions of phonograph pickup systems can easily be computed using numeric models, derived from analogues circuits of the investigated pickup configurations. Such technique can be a powerful tool for designers, as it makes it possible to evaluate the performance of different pickup arrangements accurately enough and very quickly. Using the mentioned technique, in this paper two arrangements are investigated that should feature highly reduced sensitivity to the turntable rumble, shocks and vibration and to the record warps and ripples.
