A stream audio computer is a fully synchronous, coherently reconfigurable, modular multiprocessor specialized for multichannel real-time digital audio processing. Programmed via a standard PC or workstation, the multiple modules communicate coherently and transparently with one another. Hundreds of audio streams and thousands of control streams may be handled simultaneously. Stream computers are now available for consumer and professional applications.
