High bandwidth requirements make standard CD audio, available on all low cost CD-ROM based computer multimedia players, impractical for large or complex multimedia productions. The low-bandwidth audio capabilities of CDTV, CD-I and various DOS-based Players are examined and compared, and techniques are described for the centralized production and processing of multimedia sound tracks for playback on several different players.
