Nice Offshore occupies the site of the old Grand Escurial cinema in the heart of Nice Cote d`Azur. On the roof of the cinema building-and separated only by a 15cm concrete roof slab-are some 20 expensive apartments with another apartment block adjoining. Following a ten year history of noise nuisance complaints, this paper will describe how the problem was resolved when Nice Offshore opened its doors in May 1990.
