This paper describes the electrical Corona discharge in the air and its application to sound reproduction. It shows that this phenomenon can be used for the realization of a full range, high accuracy electroacoustic transducer, which works as a pure acoustic pressure source. Moreover, this transducer can reach a high sound pre;ssure level with a great linearity, and can be directly driven by digital signals.
