The French radio companies are using ISDN (Integrated Services Data Network) and AXEL Reportage, developed by Frances Cables and Radio, to transmit live reports from distant locations to the main stations, as simple as a phone call, with 7 kHz quality. This paper explains the usage of ISDN and AXEL. Reportage by these radio stations, and the benefits in terms of quality, cost savings, and reliability.
