A new measurement system for non-contact vibration analysis has been developed, using the scanning laser interferometry method to measure local velocities of a vibrating surface. The system can run as a fully automated (unmanned) test, and has applications in structural or modal analysis in fields as diverse as the motor industry, transducer design, or building vibration measurement.
