The prediction of sound energy reflections and their effect on a room`s acoustic environment is a challenging task. Some PC-based computer aided design programs attempt to offer assistance to the designer in this area. However, to date these programs have been simplistic, disregarding "real world" phenomena. This paper documents a preliminary approach attempting to account for diffusion, as well as absorption and specular reflection in a predictive study for a proposed new church auditorium.
