This paper presents the results of physical and psychoacoustical experiments utilizing stereo synthesis to pre-comb filter signal to multi-radiator array components. The main benefit appears to be the diminution of audible combing between 800 Hz and 5 kHz. The question of how much pre-combing is really needed will be discussed. This technique offers significant practical benefits for sound reinforcement systems.
