Computer-Assisted Design and Analysis of Loudspeakers, Enclosures and Arrays with Emphasis on Training and Education

This paper describes a computer program for the design and analysis of loudspeakers, enclosures, and arrays with emphasis on training and education. The program was intentionally developed for educational purposes at the Technical University of Vienna and has proven useful also for industrial applications. Following the determination of the loudspeaker`s Thiele-Small parameters from physical properties the program enables the user to design closed and vented loudspeaker-boxes and to analyze their time and frequency response. The computer program further calculates the directional polar response of linear arrays and includes a brief room-acoustic analysis section.
