Over the last two years, the SC-10-2 Working Group on Protocols of the SC-10 Subcommittee on Sound System Control of the AES Standards Committee has been working to define an application protocol for sound system control. The AES-24 protocol features an extensible set of parameters to cover present and future needs. The definition work is partially completed. The paper provides a status update and discussion of current thinking.
