The purpose of this paper is to show dependence of magnetic recording nonlinearity on frequency for an audio channel (tape recorder) or on wavelength for the recording process and to propose an appropriate measurement method for the evaluation of this nonlinearity. This paper`s consideration uses equivalent block diagrams of magnetic recording and the measurement of nonlinearity of different audio recording channels with a third-order difference tone and a loading curve.
