A Model for the Sound-Decay Calculation at Low Frequencies

The process of sound decay, in general, is not exponential in small rooms at low frequencies. A rather simple model is proposed to estimate the form of this process. It is based on the analogy between a room and a group of narrow-band electrical filters. Some examples of the model`s usage are shown for different forms of the frequency response. The forms of the sound decay calculated with the help of the model, and measured in small rooms, were estimated in good coincidence.
