The simultaneous transmission of an SCA background channel service on the RF carrier along with the two stereo channels can result in an intermodulation interference in improperly designed or aligned stereo FM receivers. The nature of SCA interference is discussed along with some techniques for minimizing sources of the interference. Measurements of a cross-section of the stereo FM receiver market are included.
