This paper describes the new sound system of the Opera House in Chemnitz, which reopened in December 1992. Many innovative audio components, like the new TOA ix 9000 digital sound console, the Klotz Oak-Link signal distribution system, and the Renkus-Heinz loudspeaker system are included here. The authors assess the loudspeakers, the signal distribution stage, soundbooth, and back, including the connections to other areas in the theater, for example the new recording studio. In this context all other sound equipment will be noted.
