Measurement Resoultion and Application of Complex Loudspeaakers Pherical Directivty Patterns for Sound Reinforcement

Complex directivity patterns include magnitude and phase of sound pressure attenuation as a function of direction and frequency. Requirements to angle and frequency resolution in the measured directivity patterns will be discussed. Resolution requirements are determined by the wanted accuracy in directivity pattern-based calculations, e.g. the complex sum of sound pressure contributions from an array of loudspeakers. Complex directivity pattern measurement methods are also discussed.
