Logarithmic Spaced Analysis Filter Bank for Multiple Loudspeaker Channels

The main problem in the design of a multiway loudspeaker system is the choice of the crossover network. By doing the frequency splitting in the digital domain, the linear phase approach can avoid the phase distortion introduced by analog filters. In addition, a high stopband attenuation eliminates crosstalk between adjacent frequency band loudspeakers. The new approach uses a multirate analysis filter bank for the frequency splitting. Besides meeting prescribed passband and stopband specifications, any transition bandwidth for each splitting filter can be achieved.
