Design and Theory of a New Midrange Horn Driver

This paper will review some of the important considerations for the design of electroacoustic transducers, focusing on the compression driver. Since the vibration of the diaphragm is the core of the system, it is discussed in greater detail. Then a compression driver is described which has been designed for high power, midrange operation. Several aspects of the design are quantitatively studied using a variety of engineering software on the computer.
