This paper describes the features of a digital audio coder designed for high-fidelity monophonic compression. This coder is based on a 116-sub-band block-floating point quantization scheme and yields an average bit-rate of about 100 kbit/s. Results of double blind tests with hidden reference are presented, as some possible improvements of this coder.
