A discussion dealing with design theory; construction implementation and acoustic testing of two advanced high-end listening/conference rooms for Mercury Records, New York City. These environments involve very low NC levels; well designed and predictable 1st and 2nd order reflection analysis. The paper will discuss the use of our firm`s own acoustic ray trace software (CART-computerized acoustic ray trace) showing the various proposed designs and, of course, the final solution for the space; as well as the first United States use of curved high frequency reflector/low frequency absorber poly-cylindrical using the Japanese manufactured material Almute (aluminum). The paper will include architectural drawings, ray trace diagrams, RT60 calculations, measured results (time and frequency domain), and photos of both environments.
