Measurements of the sound fields of musical instruments showed it was possible to use scalar sound pressure instead of acceleration as input signal for modal analysis. Results obtained in the internal sound fields of woodwind instruments and of a guitar will be presented in a video film showing the advantages of the animated amplitude and phase display of the sound pressure.
