The problem of loudspeaker-microphone (LM) system measurements in reverberantenvironments where the impulse response under investigation is corrupted by unknown echoes is examines. A new approach based on pole-zero modeling of the LM system is presented and compared to traditional methods such as time-delay spectrometry and cepstral deconvolution. It is shown that the new method leads to higher resolution in the frequency domain when the system transfer function exhibits sharp peaks or valleys.
