The Application of Digital Signal Processing to Large-Scale Simulation of Room Acoustics: Frequency Response Modeling and Optimization Software for a Multichannel DSP Engine

Archimedes is a cooperative psychoacoustic research project involving experimental simulation of loudspeaker and room acoustics. The complex sound-field simulation required makes a digital signal-processing (DSP) approach both logical and necessary. An important problem in achieving an accurate simulation is the efficient approximation of loudspeaker directivity and wall-reflection response functions for a DSP engine which both cascades nd adds component responses.
