A system for measuring voicecoil temperature and true power in real time has been developed using the G programming language and a PC with a data acquisition board. A constant current source, filters, and analog multiplier provide high accuracy. The system can be applied without the need to model the loudspeaker`s equivalent circuit in advance. Typical experimental results are presented which inform design engineering choices.
