Time-Scale Modification Algorithm for Audio and Speech Signal Applications

Our proposed sub-band analysis synchronous overlap-and-add (SASOLA) algorithm for time-scale modification of audio and speech signal applications considers sub-band analysis and applies the principle of synchronous overlap-and-add (SOLA) technique. In SOLA, the best alignment point between two successive frames in the overlapping region may not always be ideal due to non-stationarity in broadband audio signals. SASOLA algorithm overcomes the problem by first dividing the broadband signal into smaller sub-bands before applying overlap-and-add.
