This paper presents a system software solution for multichannel Dolby Pro Logic and PCM decoder systems using the low-cost and high performance Motorola Symphony- DSP processor. The system software, with processor MIPS to spare, allows multiple on-chip postprocessing phases along with the decoder function to operate simultaneously, providing cost-effective expansion of the DSP`s audio features including sophisticated sound effects.:
