The event will take place in three buildings: Oastler building, Laura Wilson building and Richard Steinitz building, all within 2 or 3 minutes’ walking distance from each other.

  • Oastler Building
    • A large main conference hall (200 people).
    • Plenary session, poster session, panel discussion, lunch/coffee.
  • LW Building – Technical demo and workshops
    • APL ITU-R BS.1116 listening room (3D/Atmos 7.1.4, 9.1.6, 22.2; 16 people)
    • LMP room (3D/Atmos 7.1.4; 30 people)
    • Greenroom studio live room (stereo/binaural, 30 people)
    • Greenroom studio control room (stereo, 20 people)
    • Blueroom studio live room (stereo/soundbar, 15+ people)
    • Blueroom studio control room (stereo, 5+ people)
  • Richard Steinitz building
    • Phipps hall with HISS system (26+ speakers, 3D/Atmos/Ambisonics, 100 people)
    • 3D acousmatic music concert by Natasha Barrett
  • Paul’s concert hall
    • Evening concert venue, pipe organ, 400 people.

Location

Getting to Huddersfield

Huddersfield is in West Yorkshire, conveniently located between Leeds and Manchester. The University of Huddersfield is at a 10-min walking distance from the train station.

• Manchester Airport to Huddersfield: there is a fast train service every half an hour, which takes around 50 minutes.

(The Leeds/Bradford Airport to Huddersfield route: there is no train or direct bus service from the airport to Huddersfield, so this route is not recommended).

• London to Huddersfield: A train journey (from Kings Cross or Euston station) via Leeds or Manchester usually takes around 3 hours.
