The Zenith/DBX Stereophonic Television System is closely related in principle to the FM Stereo System, which has been a viable medium for twenty plus years now. The advent of Stereo for Television offers an opportunity to re-evaluate the present practices of metering and distributing the stereophonic program material from the microphone to the transmitter. This paper reviews the principles of broadcast stereo and their application to television audio.
