Small direct-radiator loudspeakers with surface areas in the order of 10-2 m2, in enclosures with volumes in the order of 10-3 m3, are used for speech reinforcement. Although the high QT of such speakers makes use of Thiel`s alignments difficult, vented-enclosure cabinets which enhance performance can be designed by means of computer simulation of a small speaker model.
