Seven popular commercial tuner-amplifiers have been investigated to measure their transient intermodulation distortion (TIM). Results indicate that most of them show a clear tendency to produce TIM, and severe TIM, and severe TIM is present in some. In most cases the prevention of TIM would have been relatively simple.
