Examination of Audio-Bandwidth Requirements for Optimum Sound Signal Transmission

Audio-bandwidth requirements have become one of the current topics in connection with the standardization of digital audio systems, and several experimental results have been reported recently. This paper describes listening tests which have been conducted using music programs with more than 170 auditors whose ages ranged from 15 to 56 years. Considering these results, audio-bandwidth requirements are discussed in detail.
