For the Delta Stereophony System, a multichannel controllable delay unit has been developed. The paper describes a compact device with integrated digital signal processing. Up to six input signals (channels) are converted into a 16 + 3 bit format and are then automatically routed to ten output channels having differing delay times required by the system. The control of this compact unit is realized by an IBM-compatible computer with monitor screen to display both, all the delay times used and all input/output levels in operation. The monitor is also used for guidance of moving sound sources (e.g. radio microphones) by displaying the complete stage area and utilizing a -computer mouse- control.
