This paper describes the principles for a test generator designed for testing TV sets incorporating multichannel television sound according to the OS 60 recommendation. By means of computer simulation of the dbx encoding scheme combined with digital signal synthesis, a test signal is obtained which is very stable and provides stereo separation in excess of 60 dB.
