The concept of zero phase filters has been successfully applied to realize linear phase IIR audio filters (tone controllers, equalizers, crossovers, etc.). The design approaches and implementation methodologies for this class of filters were presented at the AES 102nd Convention. In this paper, after reviewing the basic concept, the impact of sectioning on the filter performance will be investigated.
