The FLORIES Language and the Teacher-Learner Protocol-Considerations for a Computer-Controlled Sound System Protocol

Existing control technology for entertainment electronics is poorly suited to future demands of network-style control and monitoring. Early approaches are characterized by fixed message types and preordained meanings. This paper describes a self-learning protocol that satisfies the OSI model. It will, thus, cope with current forms of equipment and is inherently capable of adapting to new, as yet unimagined, equipment.
