Microphone arrays are of high interest when speech signals are disturbed by the acoustic environment (reverberation and ambient noise) as in modern hands-free communications. This paper describes a microphone array designed for multimedia workstations. It is characterized by a uniform performance throughout the frequency range of interest. The experimentation of this array has shown that it is a helpful tool for the design of multimedia workstations.
